Water Damage Reconstruction Technician
Job Description:
As a Water Damage Reconstruction Technician at AmSteam, you will play a key role in restoring residential and commercial properties affected by flooding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for replacing insulation, drywall, and flooring. They will also repair any other structural or aesthetic damage, handle all material and equipment required for reconstruction, and ensure accurate reporting of on-site progress. The role also involves building and maintaining positive relationships with homeowners, renters, property managers, and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Return residential and commercial properties to their pre-flood condition
- Employ techniques for proper installation of insulation to improve energy efficiency and maintain climate control
- Install drywall, including mudding, taping, and finishing to achieve a smooth and seamless surface
- Complete painting and finishing work for a polished and aesthetically pleasing final appearance
- Lay various types of flooring such as hardwood, laminate, tile, and carpet
- Attend on-site meetings as required and establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance protocols and claims processes
- Experience working in multi-unit settings with sufficient knowledge of property management protocols
- Ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted and work in tight spaces
- Professional communication skills and stellar organization and documentation abilities
- Commitment to creating and working in a clean, safe environment
- Valid driver’s license and clean criminal record
- Experience with texture (full spray and blends) is an asset
