Water Damage Restoration Technician
Job Description:
As a Water Damage Restoration Technician at AmSteam, you will play a key role in assisting with emergency mitigation, water extraction, and restoring properties affected by floods. You will be responsible for installing and operating various drying equipment, conducting demolitions, assessing water damage, and ensuring accurate reporting of onsite progress. Your role will also involve building and maintaining positive relationships with homeowners, renters, insurance adjusters, property managers, and other team members. Additionally, you will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, contributing to our commitment to serving our community around the clock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with emergency mitigation, water extraction, and installation of drying equipment following IICRC standards
- Inspect properties to determine the source of the flood, assess affected structures, and evaluate damaged property
- Conduct interior demolition: cut affected drywall, remove wet insulation, etc.
- Take moisture readings and provide accurate onsite progress reports
- Attend onsite meetings as required and establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for an average of five days each month
Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance protocols and claims processes
- Experience working in multi-unit settings with sufficient knowledge of property management protocols
- Understanding of construction trades and excellent time management skills
- Ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted and work in tight spaces
- Professional communication skills and stellar organization and documentation abilities
- Commitment to creating and working in a clean, safe environment
- Valid driver’s license and clean criminal record
- WRT Certified
